When the promos for the first season of This Is Us were airing, I thought it looked good, but didn’t want to commit to another show; my TV cup was full. It wasn’t until about three eps in that I was telling Stace that I hadn’t watched it yet- and it was her reaction (“WHAT?!?! Oh no, you’ve GOT to watch it! Oh my God, you’ll LOVE it!”) that made me watch all three episodes back to back on Tenplay that night. And she was right. Simply put, This Is Us is one of the best bits of television we’ve seen in years. It’s real and it’s raw and it touches on a whole range of complex issues, and does so with an understated beauty that makes it so relatable that we feel like the Pearsons are a real-life family. For many of us, the characters in the Pearson family often feel like a reflection of ourselves and our own life experiences. It’s this connection with its viewers that ensured that the series was renewed for second AND third seasons of 18 eps each. Good news for us.
A new video is circulating of a This Is Us Season 2 Trailer that is SO emotional that I’d put my house on the fact that you’ll at the very least have an apple-sized lump in your throat by the two minute mark. A big apple.
I’m not quite sure if I’d call it a trailer, it’s more an outpouring of love from fans about their own experiences and what This Is Us has meant to them. Best of all, stars Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, Milo Ventimiglia (HOT HOT HOT) and Sterling K. Brown surprise the people whose lives they’ve touched through the screen.
This is so beautiful.
