NEWS:

UK band Viola Beach die in car accident while on tour

All four members of British rock band Viola Beach and their manager have died after the tour vehicle they were travelling in fell 25 metres off a bridge into a canal whilst on tour in Sweden.

Metro.co.uk reported that the band had been performing at the Where’s The Music? festival prior to the tragedy on February 13.

“We can confirm that five British nationals died in car accident in Sweden on February 13,” said a spokeswoman for the UK Foreign Office.

“We are in contact with local authorities and supporting families at this very difficult time.”

It is believed that the band’s tour vehicle crashed through the bridge’s barrier that had been opened to allow access for a cargo ship. An eyewitness said the vehicle was “driving like a maniac” and travelling “at least 70-80km an hour.”

The bodies of all five men were recovered by police divers.

Shane Warne’s daughter Brooke in hot water over distasteful Instagram pic

Brooke Warne, the 18-year-old daughter of cricketer Shane Warne, has offended many after posting a distasteful picture on Instagram of a fancy dress party where she and her friends depicted Malaysia Airlines and Holocaust victims and the death of Cecil the Lion.

In the picture which Brooke uploaded to Instagram on Saturday night, she is seen holding the mane of a toy lion with friends surrounding her. She captioned the pic, “Politically incorrect – yes #cecil #malaysianairlines #holocaust.”

The post was met with anger from fellow Instagram followers, one of them saying, “Only privileged white kids have the ability to distance themselves and mock tragic events that don’t affect them” and “Rich kid arrogance at its worse.”
