Mia thank you for sharing your miscarriage experience, although it appears that the issue is readily discussed it is still very much pushed under the carpet. Mia you are so brave and s it is so refreshing to see such a lovely ‘real’ womanXx

I have a son. I am a single parent. He was an accident from a casual encounter in which I had used contraception.

    I have had 2 miscarriages.

One when I was 19 from a non consented sexual act. I didn’t realise I was pregnant. But I was thankful I had miscarried.

I also had a miscarriage on Christmas Day last year. Again I did not realise I was pregnant. I again had used contraception. I told no one, but found out with my ultrasound I was 12 weeks. Again I was relieved.

I am almost 35, my older sister had 2 abortions in her early 20s, almost 40, single, she is yearning for children. As are many more women, whom I can only empathize for.

At times, her yearning consumes her.

I will never be a woman that has ever yearned for children. My decision to keep my baby was mine. A huge decision. We are absolute best friends. Yet it is also difficult.

There are women I know trying IVF. A couple successful, a few still on their rotten gut wrenching journey. I can see the misery on their faces, in their persona, each time they are unsuccessful. I do empathize. Their pain I can see, I cannot feel.

As women we feel. We feel grief, love, fear, sadness, hope, happiness, despair.

The yearning women have for a child, is not an emotion, that I, as a women, will ever have.

This, in itself, makes me feel selfish.

    I love my son.

This is in no way, shape or form a complaint. This is just a different feeling. A different woman.

    This is me.
