If anyone knows how to take a killer selfie, it’s Bec Judd. The woman is flawless in every single photo, All. Of. The. Time. Today she spilled the beans on the 3pm Pick Up about how she manages to look airbrushed to the hills in the most perfect way.
If, like me, your selfie game sucks big time you’re going to love these little tidbits of gold!
1. It’s all about the left side.
“It just looks better! And I have the science to back me up,” tells Bec. “There have been some studies done and the results show posers’ left cheeks tend to exhibit a greater intensity of emotion, which observers find more aesthetically pleasing.
And I find when I’m actually posing I can move my left side more because it’s controlled by the right part of your brain which controls emotions and things like that. Whereas my right side, I cant move it in the same way I can really work the left side. Give it a go!”
2. Bring on the beams of sunshine!
“The main factor is light, so always be looking into the sun. Find the light in the room and face the light and try and have a bit of coverage, they call it flat light so the sun’s not directly on you, maybe you’re under an eave or something, so the lights coming in but you’re not getting the shadow from the sun.”
3. Find the light baby!
“Okay, for shooting at night time buy a LuMee phone case. Kim Kardashian owns it and it lights you up and in throws a really beautiful warm light, not a cool light on to your skin so it makes you glow – it’s better than a vanencia filter! Grab yourself one and find the light baby!”

There you have it, there is now no excuse not to look like a million bucks next time you’re getting your selfie on. The only thing I’m not sure about is what we’ll do when we ALL only want to only show our left side when the camera comes out. I strongly advise you keep these tips to yourself in case (gasp) you’re forced to show your right side.
