When is the right time to tell your kids about Santa Claus?

Anyone who knows me knows I HEART Christmas big time. It’s hands-down my favourite time of the year. I have no problem with shops stocking Christmas decorations in September, in fact if gives me a lot of pleasure.

I can still remember when my friend in grade 3 told me that Santa Claus wasn’t true, I don’t want to name names (MARIE MONEA) but she literally broke my heart. I couldn’t believe it. I was devastated. I kinda still am and I am 32!

This letter from a 9 year-old is doing the rounds on social media. A little girl wrote this hilarious letter to her parents telling them she doesn’t believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus or Easter Bunny for that matter. Take a look:

Her parents have been told. Bam! I would have thought 9 was still young enough to believe in the magic of Santa Claus. Am I wrong?

At what age do you think parents need to come clean to their kids about Santa Claus? Or do you think it’s better to let little ones come to the realisation on their own?
