We are SO excited to share with you our new video and podcast series…The Change Up brought to you by TOM Organic.
We have been working with TOM Organic to find out what inspires a person to make a change? To choose a different path? To fight the status quo? To try and beat the odds? We asked a group of inspiring, creative visionaries about their “Change Up” — in their careers, personal lives, health, communities, or the world around them.
In our first episode we chat to Mariam Issa. Mariam is a survivor and thriver who arrived in Australia from her homeland of Somalia in 1998 with her husband and children. She is the co-founder of RAW (Resilient Aspiring Women), a community garden in the backyard of her Melbourne home, which supports women through gardening, cooking and storytelling.
Mariam shares her experience with female genital mutilation, being a refugee, the discrimination she has faced and the incredible changes she is making in her community and beyond.
