Growing up with an incredible father is something not everyone is lucky enough to experience. There’s something so special about having the first man in your life be the best example of love and everything a good man is – and should be. For daughters, it shows us what we should expect from the men who come into our world throughout our lives and for sons, it’s almost like a blueprint for the kind of man you aspire to be when you grow up.
If there was a video that summed up this blueprint, it’s the newly released duet, Fall On Me, that Andrea Bocelli has recorded with his youngest son, 21-year-old Matteo. While it’s no surprise that Andrea has the voice of a bloody angel, what IS surprising is that Matteo has inherited his dad’s singing chops – and boy oh boy, where has this guy been hiding? Not only does he have some serious pipes, but he is Fine with a capital F.
Gorgeousness aside, the video for this song is everything. The look of pride on Andrea’s face when he hears Matteo start to sing is evident in a killer smile that says, ‘that’s my boy’ without saying a word – and Matteo’s obvious love and admiration for his dad is crystal clear in the way he looks at him. From Matteo guiding his dad as they walk along to the insanely beautiful montage of personal photographs from Matteo’s childhood with his dad, there’s no doubt these two share something super special.
When Andrea uploaded the video to his YouTube channel, he wrote, “Anyone who is a parent, anyone who knows the precious responsibility of being a mother or a father, will fully grasp the meaning of this piece. ‘Fall On Me’ is the first time I have duetted with my son Matteo Bocelli.’
