What’s new with Neon Vintage

It’s no secret that we are quite taken with the unique, cool and stylish brand Neon Vintage. Neon Vintage was created by the super rad Kirsten so when we heard there was a new range coming we felt like we had to share with you because yet again, it is super. Kirsten always enlists the work of incredible artists to create incredible designs for her products and this one is no exception. And of course, always using vintage fabrics. A small slice of heaven I say.

We had a quick chat with Kirsten about the new range and how the designs came about…

What was the inspiration behind your new range?

Candy Riot is the name of the new range and it’s an explosion of colour and styles, inspired by juxtapositions. Creating a distinctive electro v gypsy vibe. Utilising vintage fabrics from France and mixing them with textiles printed from the artwork of NY artist Jennifer Sanchez.

Tell us how you came up with the new designs and how long the process was?

I have been holding onto the artwork textiles from Jennifer Sanchez for over a year now, waiting for the right collection and other textiles to mix them up with. So since then I have been on and off searching for suitable vintage fabrics to connect them together. I just can’t go past using vintage fabrics, I just LOVE the history behind them and how they tell a story.

What is coming up next for Neon Vintage?

Lots of exciting collaborations in the pipeline, including working with some talented up and coming videographers and photographers to produce some engaging out of the box content. This is something that I’m really passionate about, trying to create a different experience for the customer, rather than it being a money/goods transaction. I’m also wanting to concentrate on producing limited, covetable collections and working on custom orders so the customer has a unique experience, whilst following the principles of the Slow Fashion movement. A process that encourages taking time to ensure quality production, to give value to the product, and contemplate the connection with the environment. Watch this space for some exciting times ahead!
