THREE quick and easy entertaining recipes for Christmas parties this year. YUM YUM.

I LOVE this time of year so much. Get the champagne flowing, the sun shining and the fat man down our chimneys pronto!

I’m always up for a Christmas shindig. I love attending a jolly bash but I also love throwing my own, especially the annual Chrissie one.

Over the years my parties have evolved from chip, dip and cabana platters (which often still make an appearance) to some serious eats – which I might add my own mitts make.

I like to serve food that tastes delish but also looks incredible… and doesn’t take me hours to prep.

This Chrissie, my guests are in for a real treat. I reckon I can start charging an entry fee.

I’m serving up three of my all-time faves. These beauties are always winners, you can’t go wrong. I highly recommend giving them a crack. I made mine with DéLonghi’s MultiCuisine – because I love to make things as easy and tasty as possible when it comes to cooking and am all for anything that saves me time.  The SHS Double tech in this machine allows rapid cooking which means we can get more belly in our food in less time!

Sausage Rolls

What you’ll need:

5 sheets frozen puff pastry

2 carrots, peeled and grated

1 medium onion, peeled finely diced

1/2 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely diced

500g chicken mince

500g pork mince

1 egg, lightly beaten

Few shakes of salt and pepper (to taste)

What to do: (The recipes have been amended to correspond with the recipes in the DeLonghi website)

Mix both minces, carrot, onion, parsley and salt and pepper together.

Roll out the puff pastry and cut out 16 triangles. Roll a mince portion until around 25cm long. Place down the centre of pastry. Roll into enclose filling, and cut into 6 pieces.

Remove the paddle from the bowl

Brush with egg and place the rolls in the bowl lined with baking paper. Space them well with the point down, otherwise they could open during cooking.

Close the lid, select the OVEN program, set power level 2, set 20 minute and press the program start/stop button.

After 13 mins and then turn the rolls one half turn. Cook for another 7 min.

Get them in your belly.

 Mini burgers/ sliders (makes 12)

What you’ll need:

12 small hamburger patties (or four large and divided into three small)

12 dinner rolls/brioche rolls



1 large tomato

Mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard (to taste)

Cheese slices (Jalsberg slices are my fave!)

Tomato slices

Olive oil (to taste)

Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to taste)

What to do:

Remove the paddle from the bowl.

After seasoning the hamburgers with oil, salt and pepper, set them inside the bowl. Close the lid, select the AIRGRILL program, set power level 3, set 20 minutes, and press the program start/stop button.

Turn the hamburgers for 20 mins depending on size, turning them over once or twice during cooking.

At the end, set a slice of cheese on top of each hamburger and cook for 1 min, using the AIRGRILL function.

Remove the hamburgers from the bowl, dry any liquid that might be on the bottom and heat the buns that have been cut in half for about 1 min.

Start building the cheeseburger. Spread mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard on the bun, add a lettuce leaf, the hamburger with the cheese and then the slices of tomato. Cover with the other half of the bun and serve.

Sweet Potato Fries

What you’ll need:

1 sweet potato, washed and peeled

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper (to season)

Optional: spices (such as paprika, cayenne pepper, or cumin)

What to do:

Insert the paddle in the bowl (This paddle makes it so much easier for cooking, as there’s no need to manually mix ingredients.)


There is a button JUST for fries. It couldn’t be easier! This button can also be used for pizza (YUM!), cake, stew, or for grilling.

Peel the sweet potato and cut them into sticks measuring about 1 cm per side. Then rinse under running water for a few minutes. Drain them and dry with paper towels.

Put the sweet potatoes and just the right amount of oil in the bowl.

Close the lid, set the thermostat dial to position 4, press the bottom heating element button and press the on/off button.
