Who DOESN’T need more space in their house? Unless you’re Khloe Kardashian and have your home sorted to within an inch of its life, I’d say most of us are running tight in the storage department. Less than four years ago we built a new home and I was certain that we’d have plenty of space for our family and our ever-growing individual piles of shit. I was wrong. We’re still scrambling for space.
Shopping bags are one of my ‘never sorted’ items. They sit, possibly in their hundreds, in a massive pile at the bottom of my pantry and every time I open that door (which is often), I never fail to do the tutt and eye roll combo. “Gotta get that sorted,” I mumble to myself as I grab a handful of corn chips and close the door on my hoarder-style bag collection. It’s like a game of ‘who’ll cave first’ between my husband and I because both of us can’t stand it, but neither of us can be bothered to fix it.
Then, just last night, I remembered Monty’s bag folding hack and sat my husbo down for a lesson. “How cool is this?” I said as I played him the video below and almost immediately, I could see he took the bait. I grabbed a bag and pretended I couldn’t figure out how to do it (genius move on my part, because it’s freakin’ easy) and he took it off me and said, “No, it’s like this…..”
Two hours later, our gazillion shopping bags were folded and now live a compact plastic tub, ready for reuse. Bloody brilliant.
