This was our 10th most popular post this year! Gotta love Ikea…

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t secretly love Ikea? Their vast array of products gives us cheap and cheerful options to update a space with even the smallest of budgets. But if you’re anything like us, making a house feel like a home takes more than a new cabinet and a set of instructions. Your DIY adventure doesn’t have to end when the last nut or bolt finds its place (we realise some never do, but don’t worry, we’ve all been there). Read on for some genius ideas to personalise your next Ikea purchase.

With a quick spray of paint and the addition of wheels, Style Me Pretty takes the VITTSJO Laptop Table and transforms it into a super cute, super feminine bar cart!

This one could well be our favourite. Prepare for amazement. Amy from ‘Homey Oh My!’ is responsible for turning this outdated MALM dresser into a drool worthy feature piece.

Emily of The Sweet Beast proves the power found in a lick of paint to completely transform a space. Here she takes an otherwise bland sideboard and turns it into a pretty and personalised hall way feature. A super easy trick to have your furniture complimenting your household accessories!

Ombre hair may be on the way out, but our crush odometer went through the roof when we stumbled upon this ombre chest of drawers. (Imagine this in blue or green for boys – swoon! A unisex idea that could be applied to any child’s bedroom!).

And while we’re on the TARVA train… Check out this 6 drawer chest which was transformed into kitchen storage by blogger, Lucy Jane. Lucy, if no one has told you this before, we think you are a genius!

More often than not, items on your lust list are far from becoming a reality. Enter Krys Melo, who managed to use her imagination and elbow grease to turn this VITTSJO table into a plush ottoman fit for the most stylish and elite of individuals!

Ahhmazing. A raw RAST chest of drawers which most of us would see zero potential in, becomes an impeccably stylish hallway storage unit. If you’re keen to try this one out, Bettina from will show you how it’s done, check out the link on the pic below.

These DIY treats have us inspired to roll up our sleeves and get painting, sanding and drilling! Which one is your favourite? Have you got DIY story of your own? We would love to hear it!
