We have partnered with Levi’s to bring you this piece but my love of jeans is real and these are all my own words. Monts x
I vividly remember when I got my first pair of Levi’s. It was almost one of my life’s major milestones like my first kiss, first driving lesson, first baby. I think you get my drift. I LOVE my Levi’s.
Mum took me to Chapel Street in Melbourne and I tried on 501’s and we have been a match made in heaven ever since. I’m embarrassed to say I have flirted with other brands over the years but always come back to my first true jean love.
Not only do Levi’s pump out jeans that suit all us mere mortals, but they are also all about sustainable fashion to help this little planet we are destroying and everything that lives and breathes in it.
There are a couple of really cool things Levi’s are doing that will hopefully encourage many other brands to follow suit. Sustainability is sewn into the fabric of everything they do from the way the clothing is made, to the work they do to help protect the planet.
They are very serious about saving water and their crafty designers came up with really innovative ways to get the denim finishes we love using a lot less water. (Yes, bucket loads of water are used to make our clothes and Levi’s have saved THREE MILLION Litres and recycled two million).
Levi’s also came up with the initiative called FLX which stands for Future-Led Execution. FLX commits to eliminating THOUSANDS of chemical formulations from their supply chain and this year aims to discharge ZERO hazardous chemicals. Alongside that, their aim this year is to use 100% sustainable cotton.
The health and wellbeing of the apparel makers are one of the most important issues of our time and something taken really seriously by Levi’s They have helped over 200,000 workers globally with financial empowerment, health, well-being, equality, and acceptance! That ain’t bloody bad at all.
This is a company with a social conscience and kick-arse denim to boot, so stock up on your Levi’s guilt-free, You beauty!
