Jen Aniston’s tip for long-lasting lippy is a winner!

When it comes to beauty tips, my ears are WIDE open – and nothing reels me in more than when the celebs’ hair and make-up peeps dish their secrets. Even if you’re not into a painted face, chances are you’ve worn lipstick at some point and know how annoying it is when it wears off prematurely. Getting home to realise that you’ve spent half the night chatting away with nothin’ but the remnants of a manky old lip line left on your smackers isn’t pretty.

So how do you keep that lipstick looking fresh as a daisy for as long as possible? Well Jennifer Aniston’s make up artist, Jillian Dempsey (AKA Mrs McDreamy because she’s married to Grey’s Anatomy’s Patrick Dempsey), revealed a handy little trick for just that recently on her Instagram page.

Jillian’s hack? An inexpensive little sheet of blotting paper, commonly used to soak up oil from a shiny T-zone. Jillian applies the lipstick and then sticks a sheet of blotting paper onto Jen’s lips. According to Jillian, this works by soaking up the oils from the cream lipstick, leaving a stain on the lips that won’t budge. The pic of Jen below shows her trick in action, which she captioned with, ‘This is how we prep for long-lasting lipstick that doesn’t bleed.’

You can find blotting paper practically everywhere, but if you don’t have any on hand you can give this a try at home with just a piece of tissue. The soakage won’t be as good, but will still help with the oil absorption. The best bit? You can use it with all your lipsticks and it won’t dry your lips out like traditional long-lasting formulas.
