Cramming enough veggies into your diet can be tricky work. A mega bowl of spaghetti, YES! – I can smash double serves, but there’s something really unappetising about a plate full of spinach and broccoli. Or maybe that’s just me?
The fact is, most of us aren’t getting nearly enough of the good stuff into our bods for a variety of reasons. It’s been said many times that we are a population of over-fed and under-nourished peeps and I totally believe that – because that bowl of spag bol always wins over the boring stir-fried veggies. Finding sneaky ways to cram as much plant-based foods into our diets is always on our to-do list, which is why we had to share these two mega delicious AND nutritious smoothies with you, courtesy of our gals Monty and Brooke. They’re quick to prepare, deliver a hearty injection of the vitamins and minerals our bodies are crying out for and best of all, work as a chimney sweep for your insides. Goodbye constipation, hellloooooo toilet time.
It can be tough stuff to figure out which combos work best when it comes to making a smoothie that doesn’t taste like dirt or liquified salad and these two hit the mark big time.
If you prefer a creamier, banana-milkshake tasting smoothie (excellent for the kids) try Monty’s here. Note: Just go easy on the chia seeds:
If you prefer a fresher, lighter taste, try Brooke’s.
Make them for brekkie, take them to work in a jar for snack time or freeze them into icy pole moulds on a hot day. Yum!
We recently had the gorgeous and VERY clever Janine Allis, founder of Boost Juice, on Monty’s couch as part of our Up Close series and in addition to sharing some pretty incredible business advice, she also talked about how Boost came about via her love of juices and smoothies.
