No trip to NYC is complete without a road trip HERE!

I’ve been to NYC loads of times, I lived there in my 20’s and had another short stint there just recently, but I’d never been to the Hamptons…until now!  And now that I have I feel it’s my duty to scream from the rooftops to anyone and everyone who is going to NYC about the amazingness that it is! If you’re heading there, do yourself a favour and make sure you set aside a couple of days for a road trip here because it’s actually HEAVEN!

The incredible Hedges Inn

This is your guide to a weekend in the Hamptons, if you only have a short time and don’t want to miss a thing I have you covered! Stick to this guide and there won’t be a frock, drink or lobster roll worth knowing that passes you by.

Best spot to drink:

The Surf Lodge – Montauk

No trip is complete without a stop here for drinks as the sun goes down. This restaurant/bar/ piece of paradise is perched on the lake on Montauk and is the ultimate swanky surf retreat. It’s decked out with a very cool 70’s vibe and most nights of the week you’ll find a band or DJ’s playing outside to add to the already-alluring atmosphere. They are known for their lobster rolls, so grab one of these and a drink or two and settle in. The Surf Lodge actually doubles as a hotel but the noise factor may be enough to scare me away.

Grab a drink or five at The Surf Lodge

Best spot to eat:

Crow’s Nest – Montauk

While eating at the Surf Lodge should be on the menu too, dining at Crow’s Nest is quite a treat. It’s a total breath of fresh air situated by by the beach. The food is all about fresh, local fare and is delish. The setting, the vibe, the food  – this place has it all.

Best spot to stay:

The Hedges Inn – East Hampton

This place is like no place I’ve ever stayed. It’s charm is next level. It’s grand in every way, yet intimate and personal like a B&B – you get the best of both worlds. I was told when I stayed here that this is where Beyonce’s crew like to stay when Beyonce is in town so you bet I felt right at home then. Lucky for them, they weren’t staying there when I was there or I wold have embarrassed myself silly.  I’d be pretty happy to just settle in here for the whole weekend and shut myself off from the rest of the world,  take in the gardens, read in the hammock or drink wine from one of the many picturesque spots around the grounds, it’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave. I could not recommend this place more.

My happy place…The Hedges Inn.

They even have an ‘honesty policy’ bar. You help yourself at any time and pop your money in the jar. That is the kind of warm place we’re talking about here.

Best spot to shop:

Figue – East Hampton

I literally could have brought everything in here.  Think luxe boho. The prints and embroidery here and incredible and you’ll want to wear all the accessories on you all at once. Great for beach staples too –  cover-ups and hats that are next level.

This spa…heaven!

Best spot to get pampered:

Gurney’s Spa – Montauk

This Seawater Spa offers a full complement of therapeutic treatments and salon services to float anyone’s boat. The best part (I mean, apart from the heavenly massage)? After any treatment you can use the indoor pool, spa and sauna which overlooks the water. Picture perfect.

* Hot tip: Check out Backyard restaurant at Sole East in Montauk – you can stop by for lunch and stay all afternoon for the pool! Ummm….yes please!

Enjoy peeps, you’re going to love the hell out of The Hamptons! xx
