One of my favourite things to do on days when my kids have been super naughty and pushed every last one of my buttons, is look back on videos of them when they were really little. I’ve got so many clips of them laughing, hugging, singing and generally being the most delicious little toddlers in town and every time I watch one, it makes me feel a little nostalgic for those early days. It feels like a thousand years ago. These days, it feels like ALL they do is FIGHT; over the TV, who gets into the shower first, who made it to the letterbox to get the mail and my personal fave, who gets to the downstairs toilet for a poo – because even though there are three toilets in this house, downstairs is ‘the best one’ according to them. The constant yelling from them – and me – is infuriating.
Sometimes, when they’re really doing my head in, I close my eyes and try to will myself to go back to a place when they were as cute as these quadruplets: Abigail, McKayla, Grace and Emily….
Too cute, right? That video makes my heart swell three thousand times it’s original size and makes me crave to have my babies back…But then I remember that everyone in my house can wipe their own arse now and I figure a bit of fighting isn’t really THAT bad after all.
