Nothing can perk you up like a dusting of highlighter. Some of us like it subtle and others like it so strong that you can see it from space, but there’s no doubt that a swipe of shimmery goodness on the tops of your cheekbones can give an otherwise tired face a bit of a glow.
There are a GAZILLION highlighters to chose from these days and the likelihood that your fave brand has one on their shelf is like wine at 5pm – guaranteed. Because I’m borderline obsessed with make up, I own a lot of highlighters – liquid ones, powder and even stick form, but if you’re just looking for a rock solid one to add to your make up bag, then boy oh boy have I stumbled across a beauty. And it’s cheaper than your fancy almond milk latte.

Glowcomotion is made by W7 cosmetics, a range found at good old Chemist Warehouse, where almost everything is priced under five bucks. Their products are pretty hit and miss but my God, this highlighter is something else. It’s almost an exact dupe for The Balm’s Mary Lou-manizer, which is $29.95 at DJ’s, the only difference is that it is a little more on the champagne side which will definitely suit most skin tones. The formula is beautiful and buttery and not at all chunky and for $4.99, it’s definitely one you should put on your list the next time you’re in CW grabbing your vitamins. It also comes in a big compact with a great mirror that will probably last you a lifetime.
For a subtle effect, swipe it on sparingly with a fan brush, but if you want a full-on, people-will-need-to-wear-shades-when-looking-at-me glow, apply with a damp brush and BAM! You’re J.Lo. Whack it on your collarbones, down the middle of your shins (and thighs if you’re partial to a mini), arms, inner corners of your eyes and even as an eyeshadow and you’re good to
glow go. Get onto it.
