Oprah lovers rejoice. The queen is back!

I miss Oprah. Heaps. Even as a little kid, I knew the things she was saying and doing on her show were special, even if I didn’t understand some of the content fully in my young mind. I would make my mum tape me the Donahue / Oprah afternoon talk-show combo while I was at school and I’d be so excited to get home, REWIND THE TAPE (yes, I’m 4000 years old) and binge my little eyeballs off. Phil Donahue may have been the pioneer of the talk show genre, but it was Oprah who elevated it to a level that many tried to emulate, but never could. She was, and still is, number one. The supreme queen.

Of all the episodes I watched as a curious kid, through my teen years and into adulthood, there are Oprah moments that have stuck with me to this day. Lessons, stories, guests and advice that have influenced my life and many of the decisions I have made throughout it. To say that Oprah opened my eyes – and my world – to experiences I otherwise would never have known about, would be an understatement. Over the years, we watched her go from makeovers and celeb interviews to ground breaking shows that dealt with issues such as racism, sexual and domestic abuse, spirituality and mental illness, to the work she’s focused on over the last decade or so; lessons with the world’s biggest thinkers and spiritual influences, providing the ‘a-ha!’ moments she loves so much. Simply put, Oprah is a woman on a mission to improve our lives. Like I said, I really miss her.

But she’s BACK…and I actually can’t believe it’s taken this long for her to jump on board my favourite platform of all. That’s right peeps, Oprah has entered podcast land and I, for one, am just bloody thrilled.

First cab off the rank...the incredible Brene Brown.

As of today, she’s dropped Brene Brown (author the must-read book, Daring Greatly), Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook and author of Lean In) and life coach and Oprah Show regular, Inyala Vanzant. We can’t imagine how good this is gonna get with the incredible list of people Oprah has interviewed in the past. So now, you can get Oprah goodness in the car on the way to work, while you’re folding your washing, running on the treadmill, or trying to keep your eyes open during late night feeds. So pop in your headphones and soak in all that Oprah goodness….we reckon this is gonna be EXCELLENT!
