Baby revived by the power of love
When first time parents Kate and David Ogg were told one of their twins had stopped breathing and only had moments to live they were heartbroken. The twins, Jamie and Emily, were just 26 weeks and born two minutes apart. Thinking it was the last opportunity they had to cuddle their tiny lifeless baby boy they climbed in the hospital bed for a last embrace.
“I saw him gasp but the doctor said it was no use. I took Jamie off the doctor, asked everyone to leave. He was cold and I just wanted him to be warm,’ Kate said.“We had tried for years to have kids and I felt so guilty. I just wanted to cuddle him. I unwrapped him and ordered my husband to take his shirt off and climb into the bed…I know it sounds stupid, but if he was still gasping there was still a sign of life so I wasn’t going to give up easily.”…What happened next is an absolute miracle and blessing. Little Jamie started moving in his mother’s loving arms and his breathing continued to grow stronger. Shocked and elated staff rushed back and together managed to bring the little bub back to life.
“We were trying to entice him to stay. We explained his name and that he had a twin that he had to look out for and how hard we tried to have him,” Kate said. “He suddenly gasped… then he opened his eyes. He was breathing and grabbing Dave’s finger…If we had let the doctor walk out of the room with him, Jamie would have been dead.”
Five years on, Jamie Ogg is healthy and hasn’t encountered one medical problem in the five years since his birth.

Aussie woman’s botched boob job almost kills her
An Australian woman who underwent a breast implant procedure in a Thai hospital has contracted a life-threatening infection, requiring a partial double mastectomy.
Ms O’Keefe said she was “butchered” by cosmetic surgeons after she made the decision to get the $7500 cosmetic surgery tourism package after she lost 35kg leaving her breasts “looking like pancakes.” Ms O’Keefe was looking forward to the operation and was shocked by the results.
Upon returning home to Australia after the operation, Ms O’Keefe said she was in “agony” and had to be taken to a Perth hospital where she was diagnosed with the rare bacterium pseudomonas aeruginosa, which the Centre for Disease Control said is often contracted by patients in hospital, particularly those with wounds from surgery or hooked up to medical devices. This was the beginning of a six month ordeal that resulted in many personal trials. As her condition worsened and turned septic it started to shut down her liver, her kidneys, her heart, her brain.
Almost a year after the ordeal her implants and both her breasts removed. Ms O’Keefe urged Australians examining plastic surgery overseas to reconsider. “Someone said it to me a couple of weeks ago. If you wouldn’t drink the water there why the hell would you have surgery there. That’s so true. So true,” she said.
