Kim and Kanye getting hitched has sent us into a wedding frenzy here at Show + Tell. There is nothing we love more than seeing people tie the knot, especially when it’s as extravagant as a Kardashian wedding. If there is something that family knows how to do well, it’s excess. The more unnecessary cash splashed the better. The celebrations included a rehearsal dinner at the palace of Versailles with performances from Lana Del Ray and a $400,000 wedding venue in Florence. Kim’s first dress was worn outside in front of a wall of flowers for the ceremony. But after the couple had said ‘I do’, Kim changed into a sexier number for the reception.
Since celebrity love and lace is in the air, we thought we might take a stroll down memory lane and reminisce over some of our favourite weddings dresses worn by the filthy rich and famous. Grab a cuppa and have a good gawk with us.
Kate Moss looked like she walked straight out of a fairytale at her wedding to Jamie Hince (guitarist for rock band the Kills). It was enough to make any woman swoon, even the most anti-wedding amongst us. Imagine a quaint little church on an English summer day and an obscene amount of super pricey beautiful flowers. Sigh.
Kate never fails to impress and she probably would have had us green with envy if she’d walked down the aisle in a potato sack. But, of course she looked like a fairy princess in her one-of-a-kind gown, that—lets just be honest—only she could pull off.
The only thing surprising about the wedding dress Gwen wore to wed Gav, is that it wasn’t more outrageous. The two long time lovers went with a traditional church ceremony when tying the knot, but don’t worry, it wasn’t completely vanilla. Gwen acted in true star style when she showed up an hour late for the service!
You’ve gotta love Gwen’s candy pink twist on traditional, the bride loved it so much she even married her husband again to get another crack at wearing the frock.
Kate Bosworth married her film director beau, Michael Polish last year at a Ranch in Montana. The couple partied it up hoedown style for their super casual rehearsal and then said ‘I do’ in a field.
The whole shindig would have been very cowboy-esque if Kate hadn’t gone all glamour girl and had TWO frocks changes. One wedding dress is never enough!
Poppy Delevingne, sister of the fashion world’s new fave Cara Delevingne, got married to her beau James Cook in London this year. The supermodel was ready to party the night away after she ripped off the detachable skirt from the bottom of her dress, leaving her in a cute little mini and ready to boogie on the df.
And get this super cute fact, Poppy went literal on the ring bear-ers and had a procession of little boys dressed in bear suites to carry the rings down the aisle!
You may shriek in horror, but Keira Knightley actually chose to recycle a well loved Chanel dress for her not so big day, saying she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. She went super low-key, wearing sunnies and a tiny flower garland in her hair. But she still looked like a smitten kitten frolicking off with her man.
And just to shock you even more, the picture on the right was taken after the wedding, when Keira recycled her dress again! The wedding dress is now covered in red wine after Keira wore it one too many times. Yikes.
