Conversation about issues relating to girls and women is SO important. Although we still have a fair way to go, we like to think that in the (hopefully not too distant) future, gender equality will be a given.
As a mother to a daughter and a son, I also think there are issues specific to boys and men that aren’t discussed often enough, or given the attention they deserve. One of them is the pressure to “Be a Man” and what that means to them, and society’s expectations of them.
Watch these boys and men, ranging in age from five to fifty, discuss what “Be a Man” means to them. The responses are a mixture of insightful, worrying, beautiful and heartbreaking.
Because we need a world filled with happy and well-adjusted girls and boys to grow into the adults that will make gender equality a reality.
Do you think males face pressure to “be a man?”
