First there was Contouring (thanks Kimmy K), then there was Strobing and now, the newest trend to hit your face is Nontouring, and it’s just as basic as it sounds.
Nontouring is a much more casual and natural look, using a light base and highlighters to give the skin a dewy, fresh look without all the fuss of creating the shadows traditionally used when contouring. The beauty with nontouring is that it not only looks amazing in the day time, but it’s easy peasy to pull off so virtually anyone can rock it. Foolproof face? Sounds PERFECT to us.
Here’s how to get your ‘nontour’ on using budget-friendly products you can pick up for a bargain at your local Priceline. Winner.:
1. Use a luminous or light diffusing primer to give your tinted moisturiser or light foundation a glowy base to stick to.
2. Apply a tinted moisturiser or BB/CC cream to give the lightest and most natural coverage possible. If you can’t face the day without foundation, choose one with a light to medium coverage and look for ones that have a dewy or light diffusing finish.
3. Get highlighting. Target all the high points of the face you would when contouring, so think cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow and under the brow bone. Be sure to blend the highlight into the skin, so you’re not left with a shiny, shimmer stripe. If you have a darker skin tone, look for a bronze or golden based highlighter and if you’re fair, go for something a little more pink-toned.
Bam! Just for a bit of added inspo, here’s how JLo rocks that delicious skin…
