There’s a new campaign headed up by the incredible Sheryl Sandberg as part of her #LeanInTogether movement and it’s called Together Women Can.

Celebrities such as Lena Dunham, Eva Longoria, Emma Watson, Selena Gomez, Kerry Washington and Serena Williams have taken part in a video that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and make you want to high-five a sister immediately. Here it is:

Here at Show+Tell, we pride ourselves on connecting women through conversation. All women. We are a site created, read, run and watched by women. This movement is so special to us because we know what good can come from women who support, mentor and encourage one another and it’s nothing short of magical.

We are all capable of being strong and powerful women; every single one of us. When we succeed, whether it be in our careers, in motherhood or just in working hard and carving out the life of our dreams, we want to be able to look to the left and to the right and see a fellow woman looking back at us.  But here’s the thing; it’s not all about us on our own. It’s about us collectively, working together to pull each other up, under, through and around any obstacles that get in our way.

That’s the beauty of being a woman. The support, the love, the shared experiences, all of it – they only make us stronger. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with. Together, we’re making the world a place of equality for our friends, our sisters, our nieces and our daughters. So go ahead ladies, do as Beyonce would. Slay.

Here, we bring you the women who have been our greatest supporters.

With my fabulous lady-loves, Monty and Stacey.

I would not be doing what I am doing right here, right now, without these two – Monty and Stacey.
I took a leap of faith starting something new, and opening myself up to be potentially judged and scrutinised by putting myself and my life out there for everyone to see in the hope of connecting to other women going through and facing the same challenges as me in their lives. But I wouldn’t and couldn’t have done it without these two strong women backing me every day. Monty and Stacey believe in me even when I don’t, and push me from behind when I don’t even know it. And I strongly believe it’s because of our respect and support for each other that we’ve created such a safe space for women to join us. the fear I had of being judged and scrutinised has never been realised.

With Kristin, AKA Hags – the lady who’s always in my corner.

One of the most important women in my life. Kristin AKA ‘Hags’ is hilariously inappropriate but totally mature and morally sound in every way. She has been by my side since I first met her when I moved to America at 17 years old. She knows the right thing to say every time – she’s the safe place I go for the ‘real shit’ and always the place I go for the ‘funny shit’. Whether it’s, ‘you’re gonna have to suck it up’ to ‘that’s fucked, let’s fix that up.’ She unwavering in her love and support. Without her in my corner my life may not make sense. She ‘gets me’ to the very core and honestly every day I’m thankful for her.

Me and my beautiful mum Lexi

I have SO many amazing women behind me. My bestie forever is Stace and she is my rock, my reliable, fiercely loyal gal pal. Brooke has become one of the people in my life I rely on the most too. The three of us share some wild dreams and together I know they will come true. My main squeeze from birth though is my mum. This woman is everything I aspire to be. She has the best sense of humour and loves me like no one else on this planet could.

Carla and her best friend Erin

This is my best friend Erin.

We have known each other since we were 18 years old, we’ve supported each other through children, my miscarriage, our relationship break downs, everything. We speak 2-3 times a day and she literally knows everything about me. She’s my rock and I don’t know what I would without her.

She goes and watches every film I’ve ever made and reads everything I write, and is my number one supporter. When I applied to Show+Tell and they wrote back saying yes, she was holding my iPad and saw the email before me and screamed like it was the best news she had ever received. If I’m unsure about what to write I ring her and workshop it through with her first. She’s always present and available and makes me feel so valued.

I’m literally crying writing this!!

My sister Rosina, me and our mum Sandra.

The woman who always has and always will be my strongest supporter in life is my mum, Sandra. To say she is the backbone of our family is a massive understatement.

She is, without a doubt, the strongest woman I have ever known. My mum did not have the easiest ride in life but she was hell bent on ensuring my siblings and I had the most nurturing, loving and supported upbringing. And she delivered.

She gave me the gift of an unbreakably strong family connection, taught me the value of hard work, and is now helping me teach my children the same.  She is the woman who taught me that I am worth everything, that I can achieve anything and most importantly, she is the woman who taught me how to love.
